UV Properties
The main problem with the SED assignment is the UV properties (as shown, e.g., here).
MUV-Beta relation
Using the halo catalog generated earlier (as described here), the MUV-beta relation is:

Conclusions
Beta seems to depend strongly on the metallicity… Next, I will look into the metallicities of the galaxies more closely.
